Do You Know What Today Is?

SmileyI bet you're thinking it's Easter right? Well, it is, but what's also important is that I turned 17 months old today! One more month and I'll be a year and a half!?! Can you believe it? Do I get a cake for that, too? I like cake.

This morning, Mommy went to church early again to do music and Daddy got me all dressed up in my Easter dress. Later after church we went to Mom-mom's house to have dinner. I fell asleep in the van on the way there and just slept on Mommy's shoulder for a while once we got there. Then I had yummy lunch. Mom-mom is a great cook.

Once lunch was over, I found a special spot in Mom-mom's kitchen that I liked. It's right by the sliding glass door. I like being able to see outside and play with the tall vertical blinds. They were lots of fun. I also got to pet two different kitty cats! Mom-mom has three cats. I got to meet Jeffery and Maple. They were so soft. They made me smile.

Aunt Julie gave me this really big stuffed lamb. I like to snuggle with it. We had some desert. I ate the lemon part of Mommy's lemon meringue pie. I'm digging lemon flavored stuff lately, just like Daddy. Then it was time to go home. We all had a big day and so we all turned in early.

Aunt Julie took pictures. It usually takes her awhile to get them to us but watch for them. I was darn cute on Easter. Okay, I'm darn cute every day.

Chill Out

Today, Mommy declared a day of rest. We've been travelling everyday this week to do stuff for church. Mommy said she was going to sleep...a lot. She took a bigger nap than I did today. I had a great time spending it with Daddy. I love getting to spend time with him. I don't get to see him as much during the week. He's a lot of fun.

Good Friday and My Buddy

Today is Good Friday and we had a big church service we went to tonight. Caleb came over earlier in the day and played with me. Mommy had this great idea to serve us lunch out on the porch. While she was setting things up outside, Caleb accidentally closed Mommy outside and she had no key to get back inside. Grampa has told her to hide a key in the shed but she's never done it. The only way she could get back in was to break the glass. Now we have a big hole in our door until we can get it fixed. She was so thankful that Caleb didn't get hurt while she was getting back in the house. I was sleeping away in my crib. But she couldn't see where he was. Thankfully he was just playing in the living room. She has now made sure there's a key outside from now on.

Later, we went to church and Mommy did a lot of singing and Daddy did a reading. He was Jesus. Mommy said she thinks it's funny she's married to Jesus. I don't quite get the joke yet but I'm sure I will someday.

I'm wearing the brown one she bought in this picture. It's starting to get warm and I needed some summery clothes anyway. Thanks, Gramma! Today was very busy but very fun. I learned all kinds of new stuff.

Toot that Flute

Today, Mommy took me to church early in the day so she could do some work getting ready for the Good Friday and Easter Church services. I was a very good girl for her all day. I ate my snacks at the kids

table and I played independently in the nursery. It was nice to have all the toys to myself. Around my nap time I started to get cranky and Mommy put me in the nursery crib but I didn't want to go to sleep especially not in my own bed!?! So I stayed up and talked to myself and played around in the crib. Eventually Mommy came in and gave me a book to read. She figured I might not sleep at church.

Then Mom-mom came in! She played with me while Mommy met the Haywood family upstairs in the sanctuary. They recorded the Haywood kids singing a song that they sang to their baby sister everyday. It's called, "You Knit Me Together in my Mother's Womb." It's very cute. Mommy played her flute. I fell asleep in the swing downstairs and Mom-mom read a book while she kept an eye on me.

Later the Haywood kids all came downstairs to see me! I was so glad because I love them and they love me. I was hoping to see them and give them hugs. Miss Bethany came to see me, too. It was great to see everybody. Mommy said I'm not going to the funeral on Thursday. I'm going with Gramma and Grampa instead so I'm glad I got to see them today.

Mundane Monday

There was unusual about today. We went through our normal routine. I ate big yummies. Played with lots of toys and the dogs. Life as usual. Mommy seems awfully busy, though.

Happy Palm Sunday!

My New Shoes
Originally uploaded by jevans1120
Today, Daddy got me ready for church all by himself. Mommy had to go early to do music for both services. I wasn't too sure about Daddy dressing me and getting me ready for church but he did a great job. He put a pretty dress on me. (Shh...don't tell but Daddy loves to dress me up.) He even put my stockings on me. Now, if I can only get him to learn how to put my hair in pig tails or a pony tail, we'll be golden. The hardest part of getting out the door to go anywhere is finding SHOES, especially a matching pair of shoes. Today was very easy. Gramma bought me all the shoes you see here. I was outgrowing all my winter shoes anyway. So now I've got cute shoes and I'm ready to roll!

I even got to watch the concert from the glass window until I started enjoying the music so much I started banging on the glass. Then Daddy had to close the window because they could hear me in the sanctuary. Oops. I had a great time getting to see Mom-mom, Aunt Lynn and Uncle J and meeting all kinds of new people and playing with new toys. What a great night!

"Goodbye for Now"

Thursday, Willa Marielle Haywood was born stillborn into this world. She's the fifth child of our music director from church, Miss Bethany. It has been a very sad time for everybody. Mommy's been trying to help Miss Bethany with the music because Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter are coming up. I've been at church a lot lately "helping" Mommy make copies of music and of course, practicing climbing the stairs.

We're very sad for the Haywood family but it's okay because it's really just "goodbye for now" because we know we will get to meet you in heaven. You just beat us there!

Spring? Winter? I Can't Tell!

I had a rough night last night. I went to bed with no fight, but then I woke up REALLY unhappy after 3:00. I woke Daddy up, and he came and I snugged into his chest and fell back asleep. But then he put me back in my bed and I woke up again, and I was still pretty upset. So then Mommy woke up and came and took care of me. I put up a fight this time, but she finally won out. She usually does, but that doens't keep from trying to stay up.

By then it was like 5:00, so Daddy decided to just go into work early. REALLY early. Lots of people asked him why he was there before them and when they found out, they told him about how their kids had had nights like mine. See, it's not just me! I keep trying to tell them that.

While Daddy worked, I got to catch up on my sleep, and so did Mommy. When Daddy got home, I had only been up for a couple hours and was ready to go! So go we did, to one of the parks near my house.
Just when I thought the weather was getting warm, it was rainy and really chilly today. That would stop a lot of kids from going to play, but not me! I just put on my warm coat and climbed all over everything. I paid a lot of attention to some of the neat stuff I had missed before, like this "control panel" thing Daddy pointed out to me, and the steering wheels on it. Lots of fun.

While I climbed back down, I noticed something before Daddy did and pointed it out to him. There was a puddle near the bottom of the steps! You know how I love water, so I just had to check it out. Daddy let me go for a minute, but then I tried to sit in it and he quick scooped me up. I didn't like that so much, so I told him that if I couldn't play with my puddle, I was ready to go home. See?

Home Away From Home

Not many pictures to show you from the last couple days, so I'll just tell you all about it. On Monday, Mommy and Daddy had a busy day. Daddy got up early and fed me the yummy eggs he always makes, and I was still pretty sleepy, so he tucked me back into bed and kissed me on my head before going off to work, saying something about not seeing me later.

I didn't really know what he meant, and eventually took a nap after Mommy told me something similar. When I woke up, I finally realized what they meant, because Mommy was gone too and Gramma was there! She said Mommy and Daddy had some things to do, so she packed me up and took me to one of my favoritest places: Gramma and Grampa's house! Gramma told me that Mommy went to meet Daddy at a doctor's appointment or something. I didn't care too much, because I got to play with my Gramma and Grampa and their dogs and all the toys they bought just for me. I had a good rest of the day. I'm always good for them.

I found out later that Mommy and Daddy went out to a special dinner...only to find the special dinner place was closed for just that day! So they went to some lobster place instead. I think they said it's red or something? I don't know, you'd have to ask them.

So then yesterday I got to keep playing at Gramma and Grampa's house some more while Mommy and Daddy did some chores and stuff. At night, Mommy went to our church to practice music for playing the next couple of weeks, and by the time she got home, Gramma and Grampa were on their way to deliver me back home! I was happy to see Mommy and Daddy, but it was pretty late and I was sleepy from my big time at Gramma and Grampa's house, so I went off to sleep pretty quick.

Finally, we get to today! I had a nice quiet day at home with Mommy. But after Daddy got home and they tried to put me to bed, I wasn't ready! I got to stay up late at Gramma and Grampa's house, so I wasn't ready for bedtime when they wanted me to be. I got my "second wind", as Daddy said.  Maybe it's because I went flying for a while. That has wind, right? But then finally, after playing for a while, I did get sleepy and let Mommy and Daddy put me down for sleep. I kept dreaming of flying, though.

Now It Really FEELS Like Spring!

Yesterday might have been the first day of Spring, but I think today really should have been. It was so warm outside...so Mommy and Daddy AND my doggies and me went out on the porch for a long time. I had lots of fun playing with my toys and all the other stuff I could find.

I found this really fun string thing hanging down from the wall. Mommy says its from the blinds that keep coming down when it gets windy, and she keeps worrying I'm going to get tangled in it or something. So I tried to make her feel better by taking them away from the wall, but it didn't work out too well. That string is really strong!

Once I got tired of that, I rode my horse for a little bit. And then I got a great idea. My doggies kind of look like little horses, and Annie was down low, like she was just ASKING me to try out my idea, so I did. She makes an even better horse than my horse!

Happy First Day O' Spring!

One Year Anniversary

If you recall, it was one year ago today, I not only had my first Rita's Italian Ice but it was the first solid food I ever had. I have loved it ever since. What's not to like? I got banana last year but they didn't have that this year. I got vanilla tonight. It was just as good as I remembered it.

First day o' spring. Free Ice!
Mommy wouldn't let me eat the whole thing. When we got home, she put the rest of mine in the freezer along with the one we bought for Daddy. I really wanted some more because I liked it so much, I found Mommy's empty Rita's cup and carried it to her and put it on her lap. I can't talk yet, but I let her know I wanted some more RITA'S! She laughed and laughed but she went and got it out of the freezer and sat down and fed me some more. I ate two-thirds of it and Mommy said I could have the rest tomorrow. I can't wait till tomorrow! Mmm!!!

Mommy and I stayed up until about noon when she put me down for a nap. When I woke up Daddy told me I had slept for three hours and that Mommy went over to Aunt Julie and Uncle David's house. He got me dressed and gave me a snack and we were on our way.

I had a big time over my cousin Shawn's place. They have a bunch of new stuff for me to explore. I had sweet potato fries, crab meat, mac-n-cheese, chicken nuggets and a little piece of brownie. Mmm.

It was fun to see my cousins and play with them. I haven't seen them since Christmas. They're getting so big. In the picture you see, Shawn, age 3 (4 in May), Verity, age 3 and Bianca, almost 14 months. What a fun group of kids we are. Each of us very unique. And we all know how to have a good time.

Later tonight, after I had dinner, Mommy and Daddy took me to Gramma and Grampa's house where I played while Mommy and Daddy went out to eat. Gramma and Grampa even gave me a bath just for fun. I like bath time so I don't mind putting on a show, a big splashing show.

Then Mommy held me until I fell asleep. They wanted to stay and watch basketball with Gramma and Grampa. The next thing I know I was being put into the van to come home. I was not happy about being woken up so I cried almost all the way home. Daddy changed me into my pj's and went right out. It was a good day.

Then we came home and I played for a little bit and then took a nap till Daddy got home. After I ate dinner, we all went out in the backyard to play and enjoy this beautiful weather. I am really liking this being outside thing. I really HATE going inside even when the sun is gone and the birds are sleeping. I am still pushing on the door to the outside trying to escape.

Mommy said there will be many more days like this to play outside. I hope so because I can't get enough. Check out my new videos for more fun!

Doctor, Doctor Give Me the News

I got a...bad caaassssse........of not being able to sleep through the night. The thing is I can't tell Mommy what's bothering me. I'm still not talking yet and not at all interested in sign language. So, that leaves Mommy and Daddy playing the guessing game.

What they do know is that almost always I have bad gas. I have gas during the day, too, but for some reason I have no problems passing it then. But at night, I wake up squealing in pain from the gas bubbles. I'm not eating anything weird. I'm careful about what I eat...like I never eat veggies much to my parents' dismay.

So today, the doctor wanted me to come get a weight check to make sure I'm still growing like I'm supposed to. I weighed 20lbs finally. A lot of kids my age weighed 20lbs almost a year ago. Mommy was very happy to see the nurse finally move the big scale thing up to 20lbs. I thought she was going to embarass me in front of everybody and dance or something. Thankfully, she kept it together.

Then she met with the doctor about my not sleeping and they have agreed to take me for tests. I have to get an x-ray of my abdomen to make sure everything is hooked up right. I have to get some blood work done to make sure I don't suffer from celiac's disease and Mommy has to give them a stool sample so they can check my poop to make sure I'm digesting things properly.

All I know is, my tummy hurts and every night between 11:00 p.m. and 1 a.m. I wake up with terrible pains and Mommy and Daddy take turns coming and giving me medicine and massages to help me expel the gas. The doctor said there's too many reasons for me to be building up gas in my system to trying and figure out why. For now we're just going to work on a solution.

I thought he was going to poke me with a needle like he did last month. Mommy thought I forgot all about that but NO WAY. I remembered and even tried to escape out the door a couple of times. But this time there was no poking. Thank goodness.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

This week the weather has been getting nicer and nicer outside. I am a big fan of going outside. Mommy decided to take me for a nice walk around the neighborhood with my dogs. When we got back, she thought she'd try and get a picture of all three of us and she kept trying to get us to look at the camera.

After about 20 tries we all just gave up. There were just too many distractions to get us to look. Maybe next time, ma.

Then we went around back to play. I found my usual rock treasures and I love to throw them into the normally empty dog pool. Well, we had gotten some rain over the weekend so it had lots of fun muddy water in it. When Mom wasn't looking I got in the dog pool and had fun throwing my rocks in it and splashing about.

Eventually, mom brought me inside which I wasn't too happy about but she gave me a bath "to get the stink off." I love baths so it was a good trade-off. After a yummy dinner of corned beef and cabbage, I happily drifted off to la-la land. Don't worry, woke back up in a couple hours. I still can't seem to go to sleep and stay there. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow to try and figure that out still. Keep praying for me.

Well, when I got back up, Mom-mom was here. She came to have dinner with Mommy and Daddy. It was nice to be able to see her again. Mom-mom said she thought I might be hungry and sure enough, this time that helped a lot! Mom-mom had to go home but I stayed up and played for a little while to burn off some extra energy. Once I got back to bed around 10:00, I stayed asleep for the rest of the night. Maybe I just need a late bedtime. You think my parents will go for it? Yeah, me neither.

Happy St. Patty's
Since I did it last time with the swing, let me remind you of how things were for me last year at this time. Yes, I know I'm cute. I can't help it!

It's great for me because I just like to run around and pick stuff up. Don't worry, Mom watches me the whole time to make sure she saves me from things like dirty bottle caps and the like.

Today I found these really neat spiky balls. I liked to pick them up like I do my rocks and just carry them around. I look for the best one and then if I see another one, I pick it up and study the two of them to see if they are the same or different. After I chose the one I like best, I go on the hunt again for an even better one. There were lots of these neat things at the park. It was a fun time.

I even did a little swinging but I'm not as much of a fan as I used to be. Remember then? It was a year ago.

I let Mommy sleep until 11:00 a.m. Truth be told, I needed the sleep, too, since I've been up all night, two nights in a row. But what Mommy and Daddy didn't know at the time was that I grew in FOUR MOLARS at once! It hurts!

When Mommy did get up, I was happily playing in my crib and I had a diaper full of presents for her. She said it would be easier to clean me up if I just got a bath. I don't mind. I love bath-time.

We had a great day of playing together, eating lunch together and then Mommy put me in my crib to play and she laid down till Daddy got home. Then she slept and Daddy took care of me. He's such a good Daddy. He takes great care of Mommy and me.

They want me to blow bubbles in the water but I'd rather drink it and then I drink to much and start coughing. Even though I don't do what they want me to do, I still have a great time splashing in the water.

Today, Mommy stayed home from church so she couldn't get anybody else sick. I was up two times last night with bad belly aches. Because of me, Mommy didn't get to sleep until 5 a.m. so it was good she stayed home anyway. Daddy took me to the early service and then we stayed at church through Sunday school and played with another child named, Keely. She's almost 10 months old. She's crawling everywhere and she loves to follow me everywhere I go. It's like I'm a big sister.

After we got home I took a big nap to make up for losing an hour last night and for being up so much. Then Daddy took me on a long walk around the neighborhood. After we got home and played for a while, I had a little dinner and got a bath. Daddy washed my hair and I normally don't mind that but tonight I decided that I don't like it at all. I let Daddy know it.

Mommy and Daddy sat down to dinner and Mommy gave me a piece of tomato. Being the scientist that I am, I had to squish it in my hands. And then I got Daddy back by rubbing it in my freshly-washed hair. Yep, I'm a stinker but I know my parents love me anyway.

A Rock and A Swing

I was super whiny all day. Mr. Jeff came by for a visit around 2:00 and I wasn't too sure about him. But after awhile I got comfortable with him being there I started giving him my best flirty eyes. He and Mommy were talking about something called, "insurance." I don't know what it means but Mommy said it has to do with taking care of me somehow.

After Mr. Jeff left, we went outside to play and I got to dig in the dirt. I loved spring and being outside. It was warm enough that I didn't even need a coat. I walked all over the yard picking up rocks. Don't worry, Mommy made sure they were rocks and not dog nuggets. Since the doggy pool was empty, I would take the rocks over and throw them in. Then I got in and would pick up the rocks and "chunk" around the pool holding my rocks. Then I would get out and go look for more rocks, better rocks. I have a whole rock collection.

Everything was going great until Mommy said the worse thing I have ever heard in my life, "It's time to go in." Let me tell you, I didn't like that part one bit and I let her know about it. She said that she has my rocks all put away in a safe place and that I'll be able to come back out and play with them again soon. I hope so because it's only been a couple of hours and I already miss my rocks.

A Visit from Pop-pop

Pop-pop came to my house today and Mommy went to the gym! I wasn't sure what to make of Pop-pop at first. He's really tall like Daddy. I was clinging to Mommy's leg until she left me with him. I was a little fussy but Pop-pop took me to see the birds and stuff outside. That instantly put me in a better mood. Once he changed me, I was happy from there on out. I was talking to him and playing with him. I showed him the books I like to "read." It was like we've been best friends forever. Then Mommy came home and he had to go home.

Mommy made me a really yummy lunch. She grilled chicken and I had some slices of an orange. They were so good. I took a nice nap but I had a bad diaper that woke me up. Mommy came to my rescue and changed me and then we had a nice time in the rocking chair. I let her hold me and rock me to sleep, something I normally never let her do. She loves it and every once in a while I tolerate it. It was a nice afternoon and when Daddy came home he made dinner for us outside on the grill. We had yummy pork chops and I had my new favorite, macaroni and cheese! Mommy tried to slip me some green beans but rest assured, they quickly hit the floor. Nice try, Mom.

Under the Weather

Daddy was really sick last night. We had to take him to the hospital. Gramma came and got me in the middle of the night and took me back to her house. I got to spend the night and play with her all day today.

I had big fun at Gramma's house. I did lots of basket sitting and exploring. She has lots of neat toys that I only get to play with when I come to her house. She and I had lots of fun. Grampa's with Great-grampa fishing in Florida.

Mommy came to get me late tonite. I was so excited to see Daddy that I was kicking with excitement even though I was super sleepy. I saw how sick Daddy was and I was worried about him. I'm so glad to see he's feeling better.

So Big

After I got tired of playing there we went to the playground out by the police station. I had fun showing Daddy how I can climb up to the top all by myself. There were lots of kids there today that aren't there during the week and the equipment started to get crowded so we didn't stay very long. It was just long enough for me to demonstrate my skills.

I love being outdoors and I can't wait! C'mon, spring!

I could see up high and I could put my head down when I wanted to.

We went up to the rain forest and I got to chunk around. Then went down to see the sharks and stingrays. Afterwards, we went to see the Dolphin Show. I got to see the Dolphins jump high in the air and do all kinds of tricks.

After we left the aquarium, Grampa drove us down to Cetrones where he bought us a yummy lunch. I fell asleep in the van on the way there but woke up just in time to eat. I had chicken, fries and other yummies.

Once we got home, Mommy took a nap, I played quietly in my crib and then later, Daddy took me outside to play on my play equipment. I had a great day.

My Buddy and Me

Today, Caleb came to visit me at my house again. I like it when he comes over. It makes me realize how important all my toys are to me. I get this jealous feeling inside when I see him playing with my toys. I also like to steal his sippy cup. It doesn't even matter if it's empty, I just like it. Mommy sometimes makes me sit in my room or my crib to give Caleb some space every once in a while. But today I took a three-hour nap. It's been a busy week and I just needed a rest.

Tonight we went to Cactus Willies for dinner. They have a nice buffet and I get to eat free! And boy, do I ever eat. I love, love, love their macaroni and cheese and their jell-o is oh so delicious. Today I even ate a whole slice of pizza and Mommy gave me a whole chicken leg to hold and I bit off a big chunk and chewed it up. Don't worry, there's a ton of eyes on me at all times. The people that work there all love me and the all come visit me at some point during the meal. Even if the waitresses aren't assigned to our table, they still come over and talk to me. I'm just that cute. I like buffets especially because they have a lot of variety and I can eat as much as I want. And I do.

A Budding Friendship

Today, Mommy and I went over the bay bridge to visit Miss Jamie and her family. Her youngest daughter, Jessi, is my age. Well, I'm three weeks older but she's more advanced then I am. She's a fellow climber, too.

While I was there I got to play with her toys. She has a Violet the Talking Dog like I do but I couldn't figure out why he wouldn't say my name, she kept saying, "Jessica." Silly Violet.

I got to play with Jessi's brother's toys, too. John was nice enough to share his toy trucks and cars. I had lunch there and Mommy even let me try soda for the first time. Don't worry it was diet and caffeine free. Mommy says she shutters to think how I will act with caffeine in my system.

Jessi is a big hugger like you see here in this photo. One time she went to hug me and I lost my balance and we fell over. I bumped my head on a toy car and it hurt. After I cried a little, I got up and started playing again and then I started to get tired. Mommy noticed I was rubbing my eyes and knew I needed a nap.

I slept on the way home. We stopped by my doctors and they took a look at the bump and said it was just a scratch and that I'd be fine. To help me feel better, we stopped by Starbucks and Mommy got me a Strawberry Frappachino and poured it into my sippy cup. It was GOOOooood.

Later that night I didn't want to go to sleep right away so I found Mommy's swiffer. I had a good time playing with that thing. I tried to get Daddy's badges down from the hook on the door. I also ran around with it and tried to put it in my car but it was too long. Mommy said she can't believe how much effort they have put into buying all these developmentally appropriate toys for me to turn my nose up at them and play with the house mop. Someday, they'll learn.

Whatta Wednesday

This morning Mommy dropped me off at Gramma and Grampas. I had a rough night sleeping last night. I woke up around 2:30 am and didn't want to go back to sleep. Mommy tried to get me to go back to sleep but by 4 am it was Daddy's turn. He played with me for a little while and then he figured I might be hungry so he made me some breakfast. By the time I fell back to sleep it was after 5 a.m. so he decided to just go get ready for work. At least he'll get home earlier. I know he's not happy with me right now but he'll thank me later.

Mommy went to a meeting around 11:00 and I stayed with Gramma and Grampa. Later we went to Cetrone's and met Mommy there. I had all kinds of yummy food and I showed everybody how good of a climber I am that I climbed up in the bay window there!

Gramma and Grampa took me back to their place and Mommy went home to do some chores. She said it's a privilege to clean with me not at her feet. So I stayed with Gramma and Grampa the rest of the day and played with Tammy and climbed the stairs (with supervision, of course) and I did some basket-sitting, they actually have a basket! It's always fun going to Gramma and Grampa's house.

Tuesday's Headache

Mommy had a bad headache today. Mom-mom came to visit me so Mommy could take care of herself. Daddy would have liked to stay home but he had big stuff to do today. Mom-mom and I played and played. She showed me how to use some of my toys, she read to me, she made me fish sticks in the oven. We had a grand time. I just hope Mommy feels better soon.

Monday, Mommy and the Gym

Mommy did it. She had such a great time Saturday shopping for new clothes and new shoes. She went back to the gym for the first time in a while. I got to go back to the child care room. The last time I was there, I couldn't even crawl yet. This time I did a lot of basket-sitting. I climbed into a big white crate, I climbed into the lego bin with the legos still in there, they weren't bothering me, and I climbed into the dress-up trunk where they kept all the dress-up clothes. I had a great time climbing and basket-sitting. I hope Mommy keeps going back to the gym. It's good for her and it's super fun for me.

Just Another Manic Saturday

This morning I was bored by 9:30 and looking for something to do. Daddy stuck me in a laundry basket. It was fun for about a minute.

Peanut the Ham

Mommy thought it would be a good idea to go to Port Discovery a children's museum in Baltimore. First we did a little shopping in Columbia. We had lunch at a place called, "Pei Wei." Then we went to Baltimore.

I had a good time playing in the ball pit.
Back in the Ball Pit

Then I had a good time playing in the water room.
Water Fall

I got to meet Curious George and the Man in the Yellow Hat.
Nor So Sure About You

I climbed through some tunnels.
Tunnel Climber

I sat on a cow, played with some toys, pushed some buttons and played with some pins. I did a whole lot of stuff at Port Discovery. To see the rest of the pictures, click on one of these pictures and it will take you to the rest. I had a great time. It was exhausting.
A Real COWGIRL

Afterwards, we went to Annapolis Mall to do a little more shopping. I played in the children's play area and then we went to dinner at the Austin Grill. I ate nachos and chicken and cheese quesadillas. They were yummy. I also had fries and applesauce. A girl could get used to this eating out thing but I've got to watch my girlish figure. Mommy says I gotta put on some weight before I go to the doctors in a couple of weeks. Mommy's still a little worried about how small I am and that I'm not talking yet. Daddy keeps reassuring her that I'm fine. Just you wait, once I start talking, she'll be sorry.

Sliding Good Time

Once Caleb showed me how to use the slide, I enjoyed sliding over and over again.

Caleb Comes to Play

Today is Friday and my buddy, Caleb, is coming to play again. I like when he comes over, he reminds me how much I like all of my toys. Mommy has to remind me to share them...a lot. Caleb is very good at sharing so she hopes that I will learn to share, too. She's trying to teach me.

Caleb showed me how to go down the slide. That's the only part I couldn't do. He did it lots of times by the end of the day, I could do it, too, and all by myself. Caleb is a good teacher. He even says, "yay!" and claps for me. I like Caleb. He's a great friend.

Daddy, Don't Leave Me Ever Again

Daddy came home tonight. We picked him up from the airport. I was smiling and staring at him so much tonight. We went to Golden Coral for dinner. I got to eat mac-n-cheese and pears and chicken and mashed potatoes and well, you get the idea. I ate a lot. I was in a very good mood because Daddy was home. Now, I just have to convince him not to do that again.

Cube Climber A Big Hit

Mommy has been on Craigslist a lot lately. She bought me a bunch of play equipment for real cheap but they need to be washed up before I can play with them. It's been really cold and rainy here so it's been hard for her to do it. She did wash the one and brought it in and she has a video of me playing on it but little spiders kept coming out of it because it was an outside toy.

She really wanted one for me to have inside to play with so she found another toy on Craigslist and today we went and bought it. It was in Alexandria, VA. We had a good time. This toy was inside at a church nursery. It's nice and clean and no spiders.

We didn't have it home five minutes and I figured out how to climb up in it. I've already fallen out backwards once but it's not that high and Mommy said that's how I'm going to learn...the hard way. I guess it's a good thing I have a hard head.

Feelin' Crabby

Is this how you eat them
Originally uploaded by jevans1120
Tonight I've been complaining and whiny. I've had a nap and I've had my medicine, I'm just all out of sorts and Mommy thinks it's because Daddy's not home right now. Mommy needed dinner and she said Daddy is getting a special dinner tonight in New York so we were going to get a special dinner, too.

I love riding in the car and Mommy figured it would be a good break to get out of the house for awhile. Mommy set up the portable DVD player in the van and I watched "Blues Clues: Shapes and Colors." We went and got a dozen steamed crabs.

When we got home we set up my high chair next to the table and Mommy picked some crab meat for me. I loved it. Mommy said she wasn't too worried about me because I had shrimp and oysters at Grampa's on Saturday and didn't have a reaction so she figured as long as I like the crab meat, I'd be okay. She loves crabs and was hoping I would, too. Let's just say, I'm a girl after Mom's own heart.

It's Not Easy Eating Green

I'm not a huge fan of eating anything green. Mostly because vegetables are green and I don't like them. Mommy has been making me jell-o and this time she made it green. I just looked at her like she lost her mind at first. Then I tried a piece and realized she was being tricky. After that I just started shoveling it in. I love Jell-o...even the green kind.

Upper Class Twit of the Year

One of Mommy and her sisters' favorite things to watch is Monty Python's, "Upper Class Twit of the Year" Skit.
There is a scene at 2:55 into it that's Mommy's favorite part. It doesn't make sense unless you watch the whole thing. Today, I did something similar to that moment and it made Mommy laugh. I told her it was okay if she share it with you.

He's Leaving On A Jet Plane

Goodbye...for now
Originally uploaded by jevans1120
Daddy left today for Rome, NY. He has a big work trip he has to take. Mommy said he'll be home on Thursday and that it's just four short days. Okay, Mommy, then I'll just act up for "four short days."

I've been teething pretty badly again, so I've taken this opportunity to scream my fool head off pretty non-stop. Mommy gives me Tylenol and feeds me muffins and jell-o which are easy on my tooths. (I know it's "teeth" but that what we call them.) I always act up anyway when Daddy's not around for a while. This just gives me a convenient excuse.

There's a House in My House

We only set up half.

Mommy and Daddy have become increasingly frustrated by my need to explore new things everyday. They have been looking for more ways to keep me challenged. While looking for a climber for me they found this neat toy called a "Play Hut" It has five different sections and they set up three in the living room.

I wasn't too sure about it at first but once I discovered how fun it was I started playing in it a lot. I've even discovered that if I push on the wall that the whole thing will tip over sideways! It comes with a bunch of plastic balls inside. Because I'm teething I've bitten one and deflated it. I'll have to work on the rest tomorrow. For now, I'm off to bed. Night, night.

Happy Birthday, Grampa!

Happy Birthday Grampa
Originally uploaded by jevans1120
This morning started out with me going to swim class. Daddy took me to swimming lessons. I haven't been in a couple of months. I had outgrown my bathing suits. Mom-mom bought me a new one for Christmas along with some swimmie diapers.

Pop-pop and Gramma Mary paid for my swim lessons for my birthday gift. We've had the gift certificate but Mommy said we needed to wait until after Christmas to start going again. I enjoyed my bonding time with Daddy. It was fun.

Afterwards I came home and took a nice long nap and had some lunch. Then I played while I waited from Mommy to come home from church music practice.

After that we got in the car and went to Gramma and Grampa's house to celebrate Grampa's birthday. I had a card for him. I wrote my own "E" and Mommy helped with the other letters to sign my name.

Gramma made a yummy dinner with salmon and homemade mashed potatoes. They also had shrimp and oysters. I enjoyed the fish and shrimp and Grampa even let me try an oyster and I ate it all gone.

It was good to see Grampa because I haven't seen him in a while. He asked me to come spend the night soon. I think I'm gonna have to work that out.
