The "Not Gonna Schreep Song"

Rashy Face from Teething
Originally uploaded by jevans1120

A week ago, Mommy and Daddy took me to the doctors because I was crying a lot and pretty hard. They knew something was wrong. Things got a little better around Christmas but then this weekend and the rest of the week I've been pretty grouchy and screaming a lot. Mommy and Daddy have tried everything they know and it hasn't helped me feel better. The only thing I want to do is be up and not sleep. It just doesn't feel good to lay down.

We've treated me for an ear infection, teething and diaper rash so they know it's not that. Mommy said she can't wait till I start talking so that I will be able to them what's hurting me. Until then, she's been sleeping on the floor of my room with me, hoping that it will help even a little bit. They also put a night light in my room. Honestly, I just don't feel good. I hope whatever it is goes aways soon because nobody's getting sleep and everybody's grouchy.

Aunt Becky Bought Me a Car

Fun for the whole family
Originally uploaded by jevans1120

My grandparents gave me some nice clothes including a pretty sweater dress and some great wooden puzzles to play with! Aunt Becky gave me a car! Not just any car, a police car like Grampa use to drive. It has a horn and everything. It took me a few minutes to figure out everything on the inside of it. But we took it outside and Daddy pushed me up and down the sidewalk. We had a great time playing with that car.

Later, we enjoyed some lunch together and Daddy, Mommy and Gramma played a driving game on the Nintendo. They brought my seat into the living room so I could watch them play while I ate. I had a great day!

In this picture, you can see me and the clock just above my head says 1:22. That's AM not PM. I just don't feel good and I certainly don't want to sleep. Mommy and Daddy are watching a movie and I want to be apart of things, too. I'm kind of liking this Christmas spirit thing.

What's Up Doc?

Tonight, Daddy was at choir practice and Mommy had put me to bed for the night. I awoke screaming really bad. Mommy knew something was wrong. She took me to the doctor and Daddy met us there. The doctor said I had a double ear infection, was cutting new teeth, and had a little bit of diaper rash. I mean, you'd scream too, if you had all that going on at one time. The doctor prescribed me some good medicines and now it's a little easier to sleep. I'm so glad it's so easy for me to see such good doctors.

You CAN Take It With You

Draggin My Blanket Along
Originally uploaded by jevans1120

Now that I am motoring through the house pretty quickly these days, I've decided to add a little challenge to my walking. I enjoying carrying things around the house. Often you can find me carrying my toys, stuffed animals and even blankets. Blankets are kind of tricky because they're long but I've devised this system where I straddle the blanket and carry it between my legs. It works pretty good.

Mommy says it's kind of fun now that I like to carry stuff. She gets surprises all the time now because I will drop stuff randomly and she never knows what she'll find almost anywhere in the house.

Some Snow A Day Keeps the Doctor Away

Feels good on my tooths
Originally uploaded by jevans1120

Today is Sunday and we can't go to church because they closed it due to all of the snow we got. We were also supposed to go visit Gramma and Grampa Evans and Mommy and Daddy are making me stay home. I've been coughing all week and teething really bad. I stood at the door a couple of times today and had a fit because I wanted to go outside so bad. I will look out of the door, jump up and down and just cry. It's the only way I know how to tell my parents what I want and I want to play in the snow. I really liked it yesterday.

Today, Mommy put two layers of pants on me and socks on my hands to act as gloves since I won't keep my gloves on. This is good because I can still use my hands with socks on them. I need my hands to do some big snow-eatin'. It feels good on my throat and good on my tooths. I'm sprouting a 5th and 6th tooth. These are on top and I'm miserable in general because growing new tooths HURTS. But snow makes it feel better.

I wasn't allowed to stay out too long but when Mommy made me come back in, Daddy put some snow in a bowl and let me play inside with it a little longer. It wasn't as good but it was better than no snow at all and I got to do what I wanted to do most and that was EAT IT! Yay snow!

Holy Cow!

After
Originally uploaded by jevans1120

I woke up this morning and I couldn't see the ground! It was covered in snow! I had a good time playing with my doggies and my Mom and Dad. We took naps together and we played outside in the snow together. I even played with Daddy's Xbox for a little while. I was very good the whole time and I never touched the Christmas tree. It's so hard. Everytime I see it I either grab my hands or I grab my shirt. I've gotta give my hands something to do so they won't touch that magnificent tree. It's so pretty!

When I was outside, Daddy put me inside a trash bag to protect my legs. Mommy said I need snow pants but that we don't usually get enough snow for me to get use out of them. She's thinking she might be wrong this winter. Gramma ordered me some cute boots! I can't wait till the next snow when I can try them out.

So what does a little girl like me think of the snow? I like it! I like to eat it. I don't like my hands feeling cold but I also don't like to wear gloves. Mommy did put some socks on my hands but my hands eventually get wet and cold anyway. I liked eating the snow. I ate lots and lots of snow. I really wanted to be outside much longer than my body would let me. When we had to go inside I threw and fit. I was jumping up and down and screaming at the door. I really wanted to go back outside. Mommy said that the snow is going to be around for a long time so there will be more chances to go outside and eat snow. For now, Daddy brought some snow inside for me to play with! He put some in a bowl. It was yummy. What I didn't eat, the doggies did. I love snow.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

It Begins
Originally uploaded by jevans1120

Today Mommy and I went out to get ready for the big snow that's coming. We first visited Grampa's house. He loaded the van up with a bunch of firewood. Mommy was concerned that we could lose power and wanted some firewood to heat the house if that happened.

Then we went to visit Miss Willie. She use to be Mommy's landlady. We haven't seen her since the summer. She couldn't get over how big I was. We only stayed for about 30 minutes and then we went to see my grandparents at Cetrones for lunch. I was getting pretty tired but I still had fun eating stuff. I showed Aunt Becky how I like to run and Grampa entertained me by playing some pinball so I could watch the ball bounce around. He's pretty good at it. I can't wait till I'm big enough one day and I can play with him.

After lunch, we stopped by Target and got a few things we needed and then we headed home. I'm headed to bed. Can't wait to see the snow tomorrow.

Evans Family Pictures

Evanses Christmas 09
Originally uploaded by jevans1120

First we went to a place called the picture people and got pictures of us together and me being myself. Then we went down to see Santa Claus. I was the only one there out of at least 10 kids who didn't cry, scream and carry on. I was smiling away. As soon as we get the picture scanned in I'll make sure Mommy posts it here. We then got an ornament with all of our names on it and then had lunch at Chic-Fil-a. I had a great time even though I was tired. Notice my red shoes. Gramma bought them for me.

The neat thing is that this Santa Claus, Mommy told me, is one of Santa's helpers because the real Santa is busy making toys in the North Pole. Last year, I got to sit on this same Santa's lap, too. Last year, he was supposed to go on break but he saw me coming and I was so cute and little, he said, "I'll do one more, I want my picture taken with her!"

This year, we were there when they opened and we got to watch Santa come down the chimney and out his front door. Then he walked around and shook all the kids hands. I must have a special connection with this guy because when he came to me he stopped and said, "She's a pretty one." I grabbed his finger and didn't want to let go. He chuckled at that. I look completely different than last year. There's just something about me and Santa. Now I just hope I've been good. Mommy said I've been pretty naughty at times this year but that she wasn't telling. Shh...don't tell.

There's a Tree in My House!

All decked out for Christmas
Originally uploaded by jevans1120

I think Mommy and Daddy have lost their minds...again. There's a tree in the house!!! They put lights on it and decorations! There's these neat colorful socks on the fireplace. I just don't understand what is going on. I like all of the new things but there's one problem. I'm not allowed to touch any of it. I so badly want to touch everything and learn about it but every time I try to Mommy or Daddy says, "Don't touch." I always let go but then I have to hold my hand to keep it from touching. Ugh. Everything is so pretty and shiny. It's so hard. Mommy says Christmas is coming and that I'm going to like Christmas. I was born before Christmas last year but I was only a little baby so I don't really remember it.

So here's how we got this tree. Today, Gramma called us while we were at church and asked us to come to lunch with them. I haven't seen Aunt Becky since she's come back from Arizona so I was excited to go to lunch with them. Afterwards, Gramma, Grampa, Aunt Becky and us all went to this place called a nursery. I was a little confused because at home a nursery is where I sleep. But Mommy said it can also be a place where trees sleep. So Gramma and her family found a tree for their house and we got a tree for our house. We took it home but I fell asleep and when I got up the next day, I found the tree IN OUR HOUSE!!! The rest you know. I can't wait to see what this Christmas is all about.

Columbia Mall Part Two

Today, Mommy had a terrible headache. She was supposed to go with Gramma to a ladies tea but she was feeling too sick. Thankfully, she started to feel better in the evening so Daddy, Mommy and I went back to Columbia Mall so I could show Daddy all their neat play things. I had a good time showing him how big I was. There was a lot more kids. Mommy said it's because it was a Saturday night during the Christmas season and a lot of parents were there to shop.

We went down to the fountain and I really, really wanted to climb down the steps and get in it. My parents kept telling me that I wasn't allowed but I still fussed and tried anyway. Later we shared a pretzel at Aunt Anne's and then went home. I like pretzel.

I liked all of the statues with faces, they had a bunny, a beaver and others. I can't really climb, yet, although I tried. Mommy was always there to catch me when I would fall. We had a good time. I gotta bring daddy here next time.

Miss Jessi was heating something up in her oven and she could turn the light on and I could look inside and see the stuff in the oven. It was so neat. I was very impressed by this. I had a good visit with Caleb and his Mommy. I hope I get to see them again soon.

I walk everywhere I go now, crawling is for babies. It's especially good if I can carry food or something in my hand.

18th Century Log Home in Our Backyard

Sometimes you can overlook stuff. You can go on the same route everyday and not even realize you're missing something. That's what happened to Daddy until one day he took me for a walk in the neighborhood. He travels down the same streets home from work everyday. But when you're on a walk, you go much slower and you have time to do things, look around and you can stop and smell the roses.

Well, one time we passes this really long driveway and Daddy was curious about the glimpses of what he could see. He and I went down the driveway which was really overgrown, and what did we find? This really old home from the late 1700's.

Daddy didn't realize it at the time. He went home with lots of questions and got on the computer and looked up a bunch of information. Come to find out this house was owned by a Methodist Minister and he used to hold church meetings on this property.

Daddy loves history and was very excited to find this house right behind ours a couple of streets over. It's in the woods and kind of hidden. Tons of people drive past it every day and very few people even know it's there!

Daddy is a little sad because it's looking a little run down and getting overgrown. Mommy and I went on a walk today and took some pictures of it and we saw FOUR DEER!!! Mommy was a little nervous about getting any closer than this and it was getting dark. But we had a good time getting to see this beautiful old home.

It's Definitely Winter

With the snow from Saturday and the really cold air outside, Mommy said, "It's definitely winter." This is not my first winter but it's the first winter that I'm big enough to enjoy.

Mrs. Bradley gave Daddy a bunch of clothes they weren't using any more and this wonderful and warm coat was in there. It came with a hat! Don't I look cute? I didn't like it at first...until I got outside. Then I realized it was keeping my head warm! Mommy still can't get me to wear the gloves though. I'm very grateful for my clothes and my coat. It allows me to get outside and explore a whole new world!

I try to let her know that I'm okay by myself. Sometimes she trusts me and sometimes she doesn't. I think when I'm really quiet is when she gets nervous. I'm just getting to be such a big girl.

Away In a Manger

Today was my church's Living Nativity. I was supposed to go visit Gramma and Grampa but Daddy wanted me to see the live animals so I went with Daddy and Mommy to church at night instead. I did miss seeing Gramma and Grampa but I really liked petting a Llama, too. I also got to see a goat and a sheep. Daddy played the role of Joseph, and Mommy played her flute and sang. I got to play in the nursery with some of our church family. I showed everybody how good at walking I have gotten. I started to get tired and cranky so we went home a little early. Just as we were leaving, Gramma and Grampa came to see us! Daddy felt really bad that they came all the way to see us and we were leaving but they did get to stay and see the animals at least. I think that was the best part anyway. Gramma said the goat tried to eat her scraf. It was cold but it was a lot of fun. Mommy didn't take any pictures but she's trying to get a couple for you to see. Check back later and if she finds any, she'll put them up here.

I didn't like that I had to spend quite a bit of time in my high chair or my crib. But Mommy had to move a lot of furniture around and she didn't want me to get hurt.

When Daddy got home from work, he took my crib apart and moved it into my new room and moved the big bed out. I love my new room. I've got lots of room for playing, dancing and running around and all my toys now fit in my room. I think that's Mommy's favorite part.

She put people made out of m&ms on the side to watch the swimmers in the pool. Daddy helped her build the grandstand and did all the grass and stuff.

She said it was not her best work but I have nothing to compare it to. Last year they didn't do this. They made cookies in December instead. So i was just happy to be there and playing with my cousins. Mommy said Aunt Jocie and Uncle Louis' is the way they should look. So she put a picture of theirs here instead.

But when we got there Daddy started tickling and they took some great pictures of me. This picture is not one of them. Mommy said she doesn't want to spoil the surprise because she got them for people for presents for Christmas and she doesn't want people to see them early. Let's just say, Mommy had a hard time picking which ones she liked.

While we waited for our pictures, we went down to the food court and ate dinner. I wasn't really hungry, just tired. So I just sat and watched people come down the escalator. It was fun. I've never seen so many people! You should try it some time. There's lots of different people out there to see.

She's Too Young!

Ledo's Pizza
Originally uploaded by jevans1120

Daddy was getting a little worried because I was flirtin' up a storm with this boy. He kept looking at me and I kept making eyes at him. Daddy said, "She's too young to be doing that!" I think he worries about me when I will be a teenager and will bring boys home. I mean this boy was older than me but we have a long time before we have to worry about any of that.

Besides, this boy was a bit of a Momma's boy. When she went to the bathroom just to wash her hands he cried and cried. I'm too independent for someone like that. Daddy has nothing to worry about.

On Strike

I've discovered something pretty profound. Fast food. No, Mommy and Daddy aren't giving me McDonald's food or anything like that. I've realized I can get milk in a bottle or cup. Now I take my milk with me everywhere I want to go and I don't have to sit in one place. This means that Mommy doesn't get to feed me any more but it does me that I can take my milk to go.
I'm also teething and it feels good on my gums to bite and chew. Mommy is not a fan of me biting or chewing on her but the bottle doesn't complain. So I much prefer a bottle or cup now. Mommy is kind of sad because I'm getting so big. But I told her to look on the bright side, we both win. I get to take my milk and go play at the same time and she can have cereal, chocolate milk or ice cream again. Isn't that great?

I'm not sure she's convinced. The books all say I'm just on a nursing strike but we're all pretty sure, I'm done nursing. Besides, she has had a lot of headaches recently and the good thing about me not nursing anymore is that she can get back to taking medicine that helps her with these. In the meantime, Daddy stayed home from work again today to help take care of me. Look at what happens when Daddy stays home. He put me in the laundry basket.

Although I look a little uncertain in the pictures they took of me in that thing, I can assure you, I was smiling and having a good time by the end. My parents love me and wouldn't do anything to hurt me. Although as active as I am now and as fast as I can walk, I'm sure there are times they wish they could put me in a cage for just a little while.

Mommy showed up after we had been there a little while. Grampa showed her the fun games he and I had been playing. I showed her all the yummy food I was eating. The church sang some songs after dinner. Grampa and I went to the nursery to play with Rock while Rock's Grampa dressed up like a Governor from the Pilgrims' era did a skit.

I had fun playing in the nursery with Rock and Grampa. Soon I started to get tired and cranky. I've had a really busy weekend with everybody and I just needed to go home and get my beauty rest. It was good seeing my Grandparents so much this weekend and I ate a lot of really yummy turkey!

More Turkey

Tonight was my church's annual Thanksgiving Dinner. We get together at an F.O.P. lodge in Ellicott City, MD because our church isn't quite big enough to have a kitchen.

Grampa and Gramma came and so did Mom-mom, too. I got to eat yummy food and listen to some neat singing. Then I did lots of walking around so I could show everybody how good at walking I am.

Mommy had a headache so we sat in the back away from the speakers but that put us close to the bathrooms. I kept watching everybody go in those special rooms and I just got so curious and wanted to go in, too! I had to see what was so special. Grampa kept trying to distract me but Mommy eventually took me in so I would stop being so curious.

After I was done checking out the sinks and mirrors, we came back out and Grampa took me to see some neat steps. I reminded him how good I am at the steps now by climbing real fast. It was good exercise. Then we came back to the table and got some more yummy food.

Mommy made a turkey for dinner last Monday night so she knew I would like that kind. So I had more turkey tonight plus some bread and fruit. The adults kept trying to trick me into eating vegetables. They gave me sweet potatoes, green beans and even honey dew melon. They said the melon wasn't a vegetable but I don't believe them because it's green. Don't they know I don't like to eat green food. I tried it but I was quick to spit it out and wipe my tongue with my hand. Yuck. Nice try guys. I'm on to you.

A Beautiful Day in November

Today Mommy took me to the playground at the community center. Mommy calls it the best kept secret because it's a great playground and nobody is ever there.

I am getting much better with my walking and I'm getting pretty good with shoes on. Gramma bought me these great shoes and they even fit my feet! They're size 4's and Mommy had been putting size 2's on me!!! Ouch.

Now that I've got these great shoes and a warm coat (also from Gramma) I was ready to play! I did the sliding board, swings, climbed on the climbing wall and even rode a seahorse! I had so much fun that I can't wait till we go back.

Allie and Annapolis Mall

Today we met up with Miss Allie at Annapolis Mall. I got to play with all the play toys at the kids play area. They had all kinds of ceramic things for climbing on. They had a funny wavy mirror and they had a bunch of things you can spin. I had a good time exploring while Mommy and Miss Allie talked. After a while I got tired of being at the kids play area. Mommy took me on a stroll. We went to a special family bathroom where they had a cartoon movie playing and a bunch more toys and sofas for Mommy and Miss Allie to hang out on. Mommy gave me some grapes for a snack. I started to get cranky and ready for a nap so we said, "goodbye" to Miss Allie and went home. It was good to see Miss Allie. I hadn't seen her since last spring!

A Visit to Panera Bread

Mommy and I went to Panera Bread today to meet a friend of Mommy's. While we were waiting Mommy got some bagels. She told me that the outside was too tough for me to eat but she picked out the soft inside for me. I enjoyed the heck out of that blueberry bagel. I had some water in a cup and I was in business. I had the best time sitting in that chair just watching people going in and out, back and forth for a half an hour. It was fun!

The lady Mommy was waiting for didn't make it so we're going to the mall to meet her tomorrow! I'm so excited! I hear they have a fun place for children to play! Can't wait!

Getting In Shape for Thanksgiving

Mommy made a turkey for dinner tonight. She put some turkey and stuffing on my plate. She wasn't sure if i would eat it since I'm getting so picky. But I love salty foods and I love meat. It was good and I ate it up! It was so good I told mom to give me a "high five."

Remember When..

I told you about Mommy needing to do shopping therapy. Well, here's another new toy Mommy has bought to distract me from being grumpy. I really like this toy for lots of reasons. It sings lots of fun songs. It has this really neat light that you can see in the picture. I like spinning things like the propellers and there's a shape sorter in the back. The seat is a lid so I can open up the belly of this toy plane and put stuff in side. It's big fun. I spent most of my day today playing with this toy.

Today I was invited to a birthday party for a little girl named Jessica Simkins. She's the daughter of Ms. Jaime who went to high school with my Daddy. Jessica's sister, Tabytha, was turning 8 years old, too, so they were having a joint birthday party. I had fun playing with Jessi's toys and Jessi was so nice to me, she offered me some of her pizza "bone". That's what they call the crust. One of my favorite parts of our time there was that I got to meet their doggie!

Shopping Therapy

figuring it out

All day yesterday and today I've been a bit of a stinker again. Mommy called the doctor and the lady who answered the phone said that he would call us back. But the doctor never did call back. Mommy has been stressed out with all of my crying.

She's tried to help me by doing lots of different stuff for me but nothing seems to be working. So her next thing to try was to distract me. We went to Target and bought SOME MORE TOYS!!!! I got this really neat farm house walker toy. It's pretty neat. I had fun studying it and figuring out what all of the buttons do. If I ever realize that every time I upset Mommy, she goes and buys a toy, I'm never going to be happy again!

It's A Rainy Day, It's A Rainy Day

That's a song that Mommy likes to sing to me when it's raining. It's been raining a lot today and Mommy said will be raining for the next couple of days. Mommy opens the door so we can watch the rain when it's not too chilly outside.

I've learned a special trick. I can pull my pants off. Mommy found me fussing because it was time for my nap and I had no pants. She looked around for them but couldn't find them. After she put new pants on me and put me down for a nap, did she find my first pair of pants. Gayla was snuggling with them. I love that Gayla and she loves me.

His little boy Alan is my age and turned one the week before I did. Mr. Jonathon didn't get to go to his little boy's birthday party. You know why? Because he was far away protecting us from bad guys.

Thank you, Mr. Jonathon for serving in the Air Force. We can't wait to see you when you come home in a couple of weeks. Thank you, Aunt Julie for serving in the Air National Guard. Thank you, to everybody else who has served and missed out on birthday parties with your family so I can be safe. Thank you.

Mommy says it's hard to do with a little person running around make a mess every time she cleans something up. I don't mind. I like it over at Gramma and Grampa's house. They have almost everything I have here. They have good food, toys and of course, my favorite, they have dogs. Tammy dog especially likes me. I should have a fun day.
