Just a quick reminder that I still like standing...with my hands behind my back...while watch Blue's Clues. Carry on.

The Second Best Gift in the Whole Wide World
We all know that the best gift in the world is salvation through Jesus! But did you know that the second best gift is a swing set!!!! That's what they've been hiding from me all this time! It's my very own swing set. It's awfully big for this one swing but I'm not gonna complain. I love it. I'm gonna use it every day. My first day using it, I sat in that swing for 40 minutes while Mommy pushed me, back and forth and back and forth. I'm one of the luckiest kids in the world.

Child Labor
Today Mommy and Daddy had to do their special thing with the wood. Mommy said Pop-pop was coming over later to help with the big box and that they had to have the wood in place before he got there. We overslept early church. Mommy and Daddy were very sad about that but they said it was either work next to the party yesterday or dig in the rain today. I told them that I would help so we could get it done even faster. I'm pretty handy with the shovel, don't you think?

Then Pop-Pop came over with cousin Shawn and Mommy took us kids to the park for a while and then to Babies-R-Us to buy a pink thing that looks like a swing. I'm very curious as to what this is all about. Mommy keeps telling me to be patient!!! But I want to know!
Oh! And Happy Birthday to Mom-mom. Mommy said Mom-mom doesn't like people to make a big to-do over her birthday. But I'm wishing her "Happy Birthday!" anyway!

Baltimore Escapade
Well, Mommy told me this morning that she and Daddy were going to do something with the wood and the big box that they bought on Wednesday. However, the neighbors planned a HUGE birthday party and invited a LOT of people. Mommy said it wouldn't be nice to be digging dirt and working right next to where they were having the party. So we waited for hours thinking that the party wouldn't last all day. Well, it did. So instead of being bummed about not doing anything today, they took me to Baltimore. Mommy was happy to get out of the house. I was happy to do something fun. Daddy was happy to eat out. Everybody won!

After dinner at Pizzeria Uno with a fabulous view, we walked along the harbor and stopped to hear this great steel drum band. I really liked their music.

At first I thought it was a little loud.

But once I got used to it I was enthralled.

Something Is Going On
Mom took me to Walmart to pick up this big box. The man put it in the van and it was so long we had to remove the seat where Caleb usually sits. Then when Dad came home we went and picked out a bunch of wood from the hardware store. Daddy used this neat cart to carry it out to the van. I got to take a ride on it until he had to put the wood on it. Something is going on I just haven't figured out what yet.
Then on the way home, there was this terrific thunderstorm but just as we were pulling into the driveway the rain had pretty much stopped. Perfect timing! Now to just figure out what is in that box!

Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda
Daddy was supposed to go to Bible Study tonight. But he and Mommy have both been feeling bad. They tell me it's their sinuses with the extreme changes in hot and cold weather because Fall is coming. So instead of going to Bible Study, he decided to come home tonight. Well, he picked up a bolt in his tire. Not a nail, a bolt. This thing is so big you could actually hear it hitting the road every time the tire went around.

Thankfully, Costco was able to get his car in and replace his tire. This means we got to go out to eat! We went to Shane's Rib Shack in Laurel. I didn't want anything they gave me. Not the chicken fingers, not the fries. That's the best part about being almost two. You can be picky and have half a chocolate chip cookie for dinner and drive your parents crazy!

Elaina the Carni
So after breakfast, Mommy and Daddy took me to a kids' carnival at New Hope Chapel in Arnold, MD. Mommy and Daddy are friends with some of the people that were hosting it. It was a really beautiful day to get out and enjoy the sun. They had lots of activities that I could do. I might not have been able to play exactly as the game was supposed to be played but I had fun making up my own way.
My cousins came, too! Mommy didn't get a picture of Aunt Jocie and Verity before they had to leave for their horse-riding lesson.
The guy in th picture above was making balloon animals. You can see he made me a mouse. I played with Legos.
Miss Jamie was there, too! I got to play with her daughter, Jessi. She was so sweet and shared with me.
and I shared with her
Mommy caught a picture of this really pretty butterfly

Then it was time to go home. We had a blast!
Taking It to the Extreme
So I told you a couple days ago about my new high chair and how I can sit up to the table now? Well, yesterday, Mommy took Caleb and I to the park and then we went to Giant to get some food for dinner. You'll never guess what they had there! They had a Blue's Clues News Sheet for kids and parents!
So this morning, I decided to read the paper while eating breakfast. My parents never do this. It was just my idea. See, I'm telling you. I'm getting SO BIG!

I'm A Big Kid Now
I've been telling you about how I hate sitting still especially in my high chair. Well, Mommy had a great idea. She bought me this new high chair that acts like a booster seat and now I sit at the table with her and Daddy. I have a whole new attitude about eating now. Mommy says she can't believe she didn't think of it sooner. I like sitting at the table with everyone else.
Too Big for My Britches
I'm not sure what britches are but I hear Mommy saying this a lot lately. "You're getting too big for your britches." I just really want to try new things and big kid things all the time. I don't like sitting in my high chair anymore. I'm very impatient about sitting for very long at all and I like to stand up. When I do sit, I like to sit next to my parents, whether it's on the same step or on the sofa next to them. I want to be seen as a big person just like them.
When it comes to the park, I don't like that there are some parts that I haven't figured out yet. Here I am contemplating this climbing wall. I almost have it figured out, just not yet.

I also like sliding from every slide in the park even the tallest ones. If I can just figure out how to get up there on my own, I'm gonna be a happy camper. For now, I have to settle on the medium sized slides and climbing equipment. The park sign says it's for 5 year olds. So I'm gonna just be happy with that for now. The static electricity has been doing a number on my hair.

Watch me slide all by myself!

AttenTION!
This is one of my favorite things to do lately. I like to walk around or stand with my hands behind my back. Mommy has been hoping to catch me do it on camera and here she got it! Enjoy. She also asks that you please ignore the fingerprints all over the door. I don't know who put them there but if I ever find out I'll let her know.
T.V. Diva
So today was a pretty quiet day. Mommy is struggling finding enough things to do to keep me from being board. So she decided to play some movies of me from YouTube on the television. I wasn't too entertained by them until the movies of me in my squeaky shoes came on and then all I wanted to do was bang on the television in excitement. Mommy wasn't too thrilled about me putting my hands on the glass but she was excited to see me watching myself on t.v.

Cousin Shawn Visits
Mommy's been really sick with migraine headaches since last Thursday. We haven't done much lately. Gramma and Grampa are in Disney World with Aunt Becky and Mr. Jeff. Mommy calls him Uncle Jeff. I think she's secretly hoping they will get married. But don't tell I told you that!
Mom-mom and my Aunts, Uncles and Cousins on my Mommy's side are all in Ocean City this week. We were invited, too but we were supposed to stay home so we can go to this big church meeting. Mommy was too sick to go and I think it was the weather because Daddy got sick, too. Good thing I'm not getting sick but my teeth are giving me a real hard time. I'm chewing on everything I can get my hands on.

So today, we went down to pick up Uncle David from his work. His car is in the shop. We dropped him off at our house and Aunt Julie picked him up. Then we went to pick up cousin Shawn from school. We drove around a bit looking for it. Today was election day so some of the schools were closed but we found him. He was so excited about showing us where he keeps his papers and his backpack. He looks like he was having so much fun. I can't wait till I get to go to school one day. It looks like a great time.

Then he went to the grocery store with us and then we took him home to eat dinner with us. We finished the evening together by taking him to the park. I loved showing him my favorite park and all the big girl things I can do by myself now. He then showed me the big boy things he can do that I can't. I wanted to but Mommy and Daddy wouldn't let me do all of it. They think I'm too little. One day I'll show them. Until then, I'll be content with my big girl slides.

Draft Dodger
Tonight Mommy and I went to Uncle Lou and Aunt Jocie's house so along with Mommy and Daddy, they could draft their fantasy football team for the year. Daddy met us there after work. Aunt Jocie gave us dinner. Pop-Pop and Gramma Mary offered to come over and watch Verity, Bianca and I while they did that. They took us on a big walk around the neighborhood and brought us back and gave us baths. It was very different than what I'm use to but that's what made it so fun! I kind of wish they could re-draft every week. And from the sounds of my parent's complaining about their teams already, I bet they do, too!

Happy Labor Day!
We rested. So did the camera.
We did go down to the park for a little while and then got slurpees from 7-11. It was a great day of relaxation. Hope you enjoyed your Labor Day, too!

Every Party Needs a Pooper
Today we are celebrating Uncle Louis' birthday even though today is Uncle David's birthday and tomorrow is Uncle Louis' birthday. I don't know. I'm confused. But today we went to Aunt Jocie and Uncle Louis' house and got to spend time with Mommy's side of the family. Uncle David, Aunt Julie, Cousin Shawn, Cousins Bianca and Verity, Pop-pop, Gramma Mary, Mom-mom, Aunt Lynn and Uncle JD were all there, too! I had a blast swinging in the swing. I wish Mommy and Daddy would get me my own swing. I love to go to the park but it would be neat to have my very own swing in the backyard like my cousins do.

After I got up from my nap, I played with their jewelry and toys. I played with their fridge toy. Uncle Louis gave me a bath. Then I entertained everyone with my goofiness till it was time to go. I even found a stroller that I could use to play the stroller game Grampa plays with me, where he pushes me and then rocks me back to him. It always makes me laugh.
I had another great day! I love my family.

Rock Band Birthday
Tomorrow is Uncle David's birthday and Aunt Julie had a surprise birthday party for him today. We were late because we were waiting for the cable guy and he never came. We got to eat yummy cake and Mommy and Aunt Julie took us kids outside to play with a ball and run around. After we came back in Aunt Julie took turns giving each of us kids a bath in her bathtub. It was a lot of fun. The rest of the adults took turn playing Rock Band with Uncle David. It was a great time with my cousins and I get to see them all again tomorrow!

My "Fair" Lady
Today, Daddy took off a day of work to take me to the Maryland State Fair. Mommy and Uncle JD went with us. We took the Light Rail to the fair grounds. A nice lady got on and asked Mommy a lot of questions about me. I felt bad for her because she had cut her foot before she got on. It must not have been too bad because she said she was going to her hair appointment before she went to the hospital to get it fixed.

When we got to the fair we saw lots and lots of cows. We watched them judge cows in a cow show.

Then we ate a yummy lunch. I ate chicken nuggets, Daddy had lamb and Mommy and Uncle J had big turkey legs and shared their french fries with me.

After lunch we saw the girls jumping horses.

Next we stopped by a Lego display that was really neat.

Then we went to the race track where I slept while the adults bet on the horse races.

The race horses are really, really fast.

We finished the day by checking out the animals....

...and watching a man use chainsaws to carve out a dolphin.

We had a fantastic time at the State Fair. I can't wait to go again.
