A week ago, Mommy and Daddy took me to the doctors because I was crying a lot and pretty hard. They knew something was wrong. Things got a little better around Christmas but then this weekend and the rest of the week I've been pretty grouchy and screaming a lot. Mommy and Daddy have tried everything they know and it hasn't helped me feel better. The only thing I want to do is be up and not sleep. It just doesn't feel good to lay down.
We've treated me for an ear infection, teething and diaper rash so they know it's not that. Mommy said she can't wait till I start talking so that I will be able to them what's hurting me. Until then, she's been sleeping on the floor of my room with me, hoping that it will help even a little bit. They also put a night light in my room. Honestly, I just don't feel good. I hope whatever it is goes aways soon because nobody's getting sleep and everybody's grouchy.

Aunt Becky Bought Me a Car
Today we got up and went to Gramma and Grampa's house for Christmas. There we got to see Aunt Becky and Great-Grampa Evans, too!
My grandparents gave me some nice clothes including a pretty sweater dress and some great wooden puzzles to play with! Aunt Becky gave me a car! Not just any car, a police car like Grampa use to drive. It has a horn and everything. It took me a few minutes to figure out everything on the inside of it. But we took it outside and Daddy pushed me up and down the sidewalk. We had a great time playing with that car.
Later, we enjoyed some lunch together and Daddy, Mommy and Gramma played a driving game on the Nintendo. They brought my seat into the living room so I could watch them play while I ate. I had a great day!

Merry Christmas Eve!
Tomorrow is Christmas. Tonight we have a big service at our church. Daddy and Mommy are going to sing and Mommy is going to play her flute. I'm so excited I will get to see Briella and her siblings! I will also get to show everybody my Christmas dress. I've been a very good girl all week except for feeling bad at times. I'm very excited about Christmas.

Playin and Grinchin
I had a big day today finishing shopping and getting stuff ready for Christmas. I'm a big helper, you know. I'm so excited about Daddy staying home from work for several days and getting to play with some new toys and seeing my family. I just can't sleep. In this picture, you can see me and the clock just above my head says 1:22. That's AM not PM. I just don't feel good and I certainly don't want to sleep. Mommy and Daddy are watching a movie and I want to be apart of things, too. I'm kind of liking this Christmas spirit thing.

What's Up Doc?
Tonight, Daddy was at choir practice and Mommy had put me to bed for the night. I awoke screaming really bad. Mommy knew something was wrong. She took me to the doctor and Daddy met us there. The doctor said I had a double ear infection, was cutting new teeth, and had a little bit of diaper rash. I mean, you'd scream too, if you had all that going on at one time. The doctor prescribed me some good medicines and now it's a little easier to sleep. I'm so glad it's so easy for me to see such good doctors.

You CAN Take It With You
Now that I am motoring through the house pretty quickly these days, I've decided to add a little challenge to my walking. I enjoying carrying things around the house. Often you can find me carrying my toys, stuffed animals and even blankets. Blankets are kind of tricky because they're long but I've devised this system where I straddle the blanket and carry it between my legs. It works pretty good.
Mommy says it's kind of fun now that I like to carry stuff. She gets surprises all the time now because I will drop stuff randomly and she never knows what she'll find almost anywhere in the house.

Some Snow A Day Keeps the Doctor Away
Today is Sunday and we can't go to church because they closed it due to all of the snow we got. We were also supposed to go visit Gramma and Grampa Evans and Mommy and Daddy are making me stay home. I've been coughing all week and teething really bad. I stood at the door a couple of times today and had a fit because I wanted to go outside so bad. I will look out of the door, jump up and down and just cry. It's the only way I know how to tell my parents what I want and I want to play in the snow. I really liked it yesterday.
Today, Mommy put two layers of pants on me and socks on my hands to act as gloves since I won't keep my gloves on. This is good because I can still use my hands with socks on them. I need my hands to do some big snow-eatin'. It feels good on my throat and good on my tooths. I'm sprouting a 5th and 6th tooth. These are on top and I'm miserable in general because growing new tooths HURTS. But snow makes it feel better.
I wasn't allowed to stay out too long but when Mommy made me come back in, Daddy put some snow in a bowl and let me play inside with it a little longer. It wasn't as good but it was better than no snow at all and I got to do what I wanted to do most and that was EAT IT! Yay snow!

Holy Cow!
I woke up this morning and I couldn't see the ground! It was covered in snow! I had a good time playing with my doggies and my Mom and Dad. We took naps together and we played outside in the snow together. I even played with Daddy's Xbox for a little while. I was very good the whole time and I never touched the Christmas tree. It's so hard. Everytime I see it I either grab my hands or I grab my shirt. I've gotta give my hands something to do so they won't touch that magnificent tree. It's so pretty!
When I was outside, Daddy put me inside a trash bag to protect my legs. Mommy said I need snow pants but that we don't usually get enough snow for me to get use out of them. She's thinking she might be wrong this winter. Gramma ordered me some cute boots! I can't wait till the next snow when I can try them out.
So what does a little girl like me think of the snow? I like it! I like to eat it. I don't like my hands feeling cold but I also don't like to wear gloves. Mommy did put some socks on my hands but my hands eventually get wet and cold anyway. I liked eating the snow. I ate lots and lots of snow. I really wanted to be outside much longer than my body would let me. When we had to go inside I threw and fit. I was jumping up and down and screaming at the door. I really wanted to go back outside. Mommy said that the snow is going to be around for a long time so there will be more chances to go outside and eat snow. For now, Daddy brought some snow inside for me to play with! He put some in a bowl. It was yummy. What I didn't eat, the doggies did. I love snow.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas
Today Mommy and I went out to get ready for the big snow that's coming. We first visited Grampa's house. He loaded the van up with a bunch of firewood. Mommy was concerned that we could lose power and wanted some firewood to heat the house if that happened.
Then we went to visit Miss Willie. She use to be Mommy's landlady. We haven't seen her since the summer. She couldn't get over how big I was. We only stayed for about 30 minutes and then we went to see my grandparents at Cetrones for lunch. I was getting pretty tired but I still had fun eating stuff. I showed Aunt Becky how I like to run and Grampa entertained me by playing some pinball so I could watch the ball bounce around. He's pretty good at it. I can't wait till I'm big enough one day and I can play with him.
After lunch, we stopped by Target and got a few things we needed and then we headed home. I'm headed to bed. Can't wait to see the snow tomorrow.

Enjoying My Candy Cane
I've never had peppermint before. I enjoyed eating my 1st candy cane. Daddy didn't let me have too much because it was before bed and as you can see, it was messy, but boy was it good.
Waiting for Santa
We heard sirens and lots of noise. Daddy had already put me in bed but all of the sudden he came back in to my room and picked me up, put my coat on me and then we went outside. Santa came down our street on top of a fire truck. We waved. He stopped and a fireman got off the truck and came over and handed me a candy cane. It was very entertaining to see all of the commotion.
Pretzels for Presents
Today, Mommy and I went to the grocery store and got pretzels and things for making dipped pretzels. I got to see Ms. Cynthia. She's a nice lady who has know me since I was in Mommy's belly. She loves to see me come in to the store. Once we got home, I stood by Mommy's side, grabbing her pants leg while she stood at the stove dipping the pretzels. We had a good day together.

Facing Forward
Daddy turned my car seat around so that now I face forward in the car. I really like it. I can see out and I don't get dizzy trying to look out the window at all the things moving past me so fast. I can look out the front window. I usually have a pretty serious face because I have to concentrate on all the new stuff I see. It usually makes me sleepy but I love it.

Evans Family Pictures
Today we all got up and dressed together and went to the Columbia Mall to have our picture taken. First we went to a place called the picture people and got pictures of us together and me being myself. Then we went down to see Santa Claus. I was the only one there out of at least 10 kids who didn't cry, scream and carry on. I was smiling away. As soon as we get the picture scanned in I'll make sure Mommy posts it here. We then got an ornament with all of our names on it and then had lunch at Chic-Fil-a. I had a great time even though I was tired. Notice my red shoes. Gramma bought them for me.
The neat thing is that this Santa Claus, Mommy told me, is one of Santa's helpers because the real Santa is busy making toys in the North Pole. Last year, I got to sit on this same Santa's lap, too. Last year, he was supposed to go on break but he saw me coming and I was so cute and little, he said, "I'll do one more, I want my picture taken with her!"
This year, we were there when they opened and we got to watch Santa come down the chimney and out his front door. Then he walked around and shook all the kids hands. I must have a special connection with this guy because when he came to me he stopped and said, "She's a pretty one." I grabbed his finger and didn't want to let go. He chuckled at that. I look completely different than last year. There's just something about me and Santa. Now I just hope I've been good. Mommy said I've been pretty naughty at times this year but that she wasn't telling. Shh...don't tell.

There's a Tree in My House!
I think Mommy and Daddy have lost their minds...again. There's a tree in the house!!! They put lights on it and decorations! There's these neat colorful socks on the fireplace. I just don't understand what is going on. I like all of the new things but there's one problem. I'm not allowed to touch any of it. I so badly want to touch everything and learn about it but every time I try to Mommy or Daddy says, "Don't touch." I always let go but then I have to hold my hand to keep it from touching. Ugh. Everything is so pretty and shiny. It's so hard. Mommy says Christmas is coming and that I'm going to like Christmas. I was born before Christmas last year but I was only a little baby so I don't really remember it.
So here's how we got this tree. Today, Gramma called us while we were at church and asked us to come to lunch with them. I haven't seen Aunt Becky since she's come back from Arizona so I was excited to go to lunch with them. Afterwards, Gramma, Grampa, Aunt Becky and us all went to this place called a nursery. I was a little confused because at home a nursery is where I sleep. But Mommy said it can also be a place where trees sleep. So Gramma and her family found a tree for their house and we got a tree for our house. We took it home but I fell asleep and when I got up the next day, I found the tree IN OUR HOUSE!!! The rest you know. I can't wait to see what this Christmas is all about.

Columbia Mall Part Two
Today, Mommy had a terrible headache. She was supposed to go with Gramma to a ladies tea but she was feeling too sick. Thankfully, she started to feel better in the evening so Daddy, Mommy and I went back to Columbia Mall so I could show Daddy all their neat play things. I had a good time showing him how big I was. There was a lot more kids. Mommy said it's because it was a Saturday night during the Christmas season and a lot of parents were there to shop.
We went down to the fountain and I really, really wanted to climb down the steps and get in it. My parents kept telling me that I wasn't allowed but I still fussed and tried anyway. Later we shared a pretzel at Aunt Anne's and then went home. I like pretzel.

A Visit to Columbia Mall
Mommy decided to get me out of the house again today. We went to Columbia Mall to play at the children's play area. Mommy thought it would be good for me to get around other kids and have a new and safe place to explore. I got to meet other kids my age and much bigger than me but they were really nice to me. I liked all of the statues with faces, they had a bunny, a beaver and others. I can't really climb, yet, although I tried. Mommy was always there to catch me when I would fall. We had a good time. I gotta bring daddy here next time.

A Visit to My Friend Caleb
I haven't seen my buddy Caleb since my birthday party. I was glad to go visit his house and see him and play with his toys. He's doing a lot more talking than I am and he even knows some sign language. It's pretty neat.
Miss Jessi was heating something up in her oven and she could turn the light on and I could look inside and see the stuff in the oven. It was so neat. I was very impressed by this. I had a good visit with Caleb and his Mommy. I hope I get to see them again soon.

Wacky Wednesday
Things have been kind of crazy around here lately. Mommy changed the furniture all around and now the weather's been kind of bad. I'm getting stir crazy being home all day. I wanna go, go, go. The best I can do is travel around the house. I like to go from the kitchen to my room in the house and then back again. I sometimes even walk circles around the dining room table just because I can. I walk everywhere I go now, crawling is for babies. It's especially good if I can carry food or something in my hand.

18th Century Log Home in Our Backyard
Sometimes you can overlook stuff. You can go on the same route everyday and not even realize you're missing something. That's what happened to Daddy until one day he took me for a walk in the neighborhood. He travels down the same streets home from work everyday. But when you're on a walk, you go much slower and you have time to do things, look around and you can stop and smell the roses.
Well, one time we passes this really long driveway and Daddy was curious about the glimpses of what he could see. He and I went down the driveway which was really overgrown, and what did we find? This really old home from the late 1700's.
Daddy didn't realize it at the time. He went home with lots of questions and got on the computer and looked up a bunch of information. Come to find out this house was owned by a Methodist Minister and he used to hold church meetings on this property.
Daddy loves history and was very excited to find this house right behind ours a couple of streets over. It's in the woods and kind of hidden. Tons of people drive past it every day and very few people even know it's there!
Daddy is a little sad because it's looking a little run down and getting overgrown. Mommy and I went on a walk today and took some pictures of it and we saw FOUR DEER!!! Mommy was a little nervous about getting any closer than this and it was getting dark. But we had a good time getting to see this beautiful old home.

It's Definitely Winter
With the snow from Saturday and the really cold air outside, Mommy said, "It's definitely winter." This is not my first winter but it's the first winter that I'm big enough to enjoy.
Mrs. Bradley gave Daddy a bunch of clothes they weren't using any more and this wonderful and warm coat was in there. It came with a hat! Don't I look cute? I didn't like it at first...until I got outside. Then I realized it was keeping my head warm! Mommy still can't get me to wear the gloves though. I'm very grateful for my clothes and my coat. It allows me to get outside and explore a whole new world!

Peanut Palace
Mommy calls my new room, "The Peanut Palace." I love playing in there. I go in there all the time now. Sometimes I will play in there by myself and Mommy will come in and check on me. I try to let her know that I'm okay by myself. Sometimes she trusts me and sometimes she doesn't. I think when I'm really quiet is when she gets nervous. I'm just getting to be such a big girl.

Away In a Manger
Today was my church's Living Nativity. I was supposed to go visit Gramma and Grampa but Daddy wanted me to see the live animals so I went with Daddy and Mommy to church at night instead. I did miss seeing Gramma and Grampa but I really liked petting a Llama, too. I also got to see a goat and a sheep. Daddy played the role of Joseph, and Mommy played her flute and sang. I got to play in the nursery with some of our church family. I showed everybody how good at walking I have gotten. I started to get tired and cranky so we went home a little early. Just as we were leaving, Gramma and Grampa came to see us! Daddy felt really bad that they came all the way to see us and we were leaving but they did get to stay and see the animals at least. I think that was the best part anyway. Gramma said the goat tried to eat her scraf. It was cold but it was a lot of fun. Mommy didn't take any pictures but she's trying to get a couple for you to see. Check back later and if she finds any, she'll put them up here.

Let it snow, Let it snow!
Today there was some white stuff falling out of the sky. Daddy called it "snow." It was really pretty. Annie and I sat at the door for awhile and watched it fall. Mommy said when I get a little older that I could go out and play in it but because I don't like to keep gloves on my hands I have to stay inside for now. She did let me go out and touch it and taste a little of it. She also warned me not to eat the yellow snow. I don't know what she means but she thought it was funny.

A New Television
Mommy and Daddy bought a new t.v. I don't really care because I don't like to watch t.v. Mommy has tried to interest me here and there when she really wants to go do something in the house but it never works. The t.v. doesn't DO anything. I like to DO stuff. I'd much rather play with all of my toys.
Along with the new t.v. came moving MORE furniture. Mommy is just a room changing machine today. That's okay. I like it. New scenery and new stuff to explore.

Has Mommy Lost Her Mind?
Today, Mommy decided I needed more room for all my stuff. She said that since I'm getting to be such a big girl and I walking around and stuff that I needed more room to move and more room for playing. I didn't like that I had to spend quite a bit of time in my high chair or my crib. But Mommy had to move a lot of furniture around and she didn't want me to get hurt.
When Daddy got home from work, he took my crib apart and moved it into my new room and moved the big bed out. I love my new room. I've got lots of room for playing, dancing and running around and all my toys now fit in my room. I think that's Mommy's favorite part.

When Daddy Comes Home
During the week I don't get to spend a whole lot of time with Daddy because I go to bed soon after he gets home. But we enjoy what little time we do have together. Mommy said some daddies come home and are too tired to play with their kids. Not my daddy. He feeds me dinner, gives me baths and plays with me before bedtime. I always look forward to Daddy coming home.

He's Back!
Mr. Jonathon has come home from a place called Iraq! I've told you about him a couple of times. We went to see him when he left in May and when we celebrated Veteran's Day. He had to spend the night in Maryland before he could go home to Texas and see his family. We went to dinner with him and Gramma and Grampa came, too! It got kind of late for me and I felt bad but I fell asleep in my stroller at the restaurant. But I think that gave everybody a break so they could spend time with Mr. Jonathon. Welcome Home, Mr. Jonathon. Thank you for going away from your family so you could keep us all safe. It was very good to see you!
