Caleb came over to play today. We had snack together and even napped at the same time. Mommy said it's good for me to play with Caleb because it teaches me to share my toys, my food and my mom. I flirt with him but he doesn't really pay attention. He likes playing with the toys and the dogs. I'm still working on refining my flirting techniques. Just give me time.

There was an explosion in the house and for once it wasn't in my diaper! Mommy was cooking dinner tonight and the glass dish just broke and shattered all over the place. That was okay with me because we got to go out to dinner.

I had already eaten some chicken nuggets and green beans before we went. But once we were there, I saw my current FAVORITE food....JELL-O. They had it in red AND orange. It was so yummy. I got it all over me, the tray, my stroller and the floor. Mommy said I look good in everything I eat. That's me!

Forgotten.

Mommy reminded me that we haven't told you about my 15 month doctor's appointment.

I now weigh 19.5 pounds. I still haven't broken the 20lb mark.
I'm in the 8th percentile.

The doctor said he's not worried about my weight yet but that he wants me to come back in six weeks for a weight check just to keep an eye on me. Then I got two shots. I haven't had shots in a long time. It hurt...a lot. I didn't feel good for two days after that. I got a bad fever and I just felt pretty crumby. But that's all over now. I'm back to growing and getting into stuff.

The doctor did ask my parents to give me a medicine every day called, "Previcid." He's hoping it's going to help me sleep better at night. Mommy doesn't agree but she said that she wanted a doctor who's trying to help me and he's trying to help me. So, we'll see.

Today, we went to the Chinese food place down the street. They have a yummy lunch buffet that they only put out during the week. Usually Daddy has to work but today he had off. I am really liking Jell-o. They had Jell-o and I ate my weight in Jell-o. I told mom she needs to make this kind at home.

After lunch, Daddy went to a Dr's appointment and then came home to play some more with me. Tomorrow he's gotta go back to work. That's kind of a bummer because I've gotten use to him being around every day but it's been fun while it lasted.

Today Daddy made Mommy breakfast in bed before church. Then after church, Ms Kay, the pastor's wife, gave us a special valentine that she made just for us and a couple bags of candy. Inside were Fruit-by-the-Foots. I love Fruit-by-the-Foot. It's basically a Fruit Rollup. Mommy tore off pieces and handed them to me to eat while Daddy was driving us home from church. Here you can see the mess I made while eating them. They were so yummy but nothing could keep sleep from overcoming me. I took a nice little nap before we got home.

Mom-mom came over and played with me while Mommy and Daddy went out to a restaurant to eat. She gave me a Valentine's gift. She gave me a really neat card and a mirror that hangs on my crib. I had a good time looking at myself and I had a good time playing with mom-mom. It was a nice Valentine's Day.

Hip Pocket

The man in the back row, second from the right is my friend, Mr. Greg. He goes to my church and is the drummer for the band, "Hip Pocket." Mr. Greg's band played tonite at Michael's Pub in Columbia. Mommy took me to Aunt Jocie and Uncle Louis' to play while they went to hear the band. I had a good time playing with Uncle Louis. He showed me all their neat toys and how they worked. Then Aunt Jocie held me and rocked me to sleep. They used their "magic" CD and gave Mommy a copy to use on me at home. It's pretty good. I only fuss for a minute or two and then the magic CD puts me right out. I think Mommy has found the trick to getting me to sleep. Thanks a lot, Aunt Jocie.

Today there was still a lot of snow on the ground. Mommy said we should go swimming. Daddy stayed home again. He's never seen me play at the indoor splash pool. We had a good time. He even took me down the water slide. It was a lot of fun until we had to come home.

The traffic was so bad because most of the lanes are still covered in snow but where I live the traffic bad even when the lanes are all clear. It took us only 20 minutes to get to the pool but 2 hours to get home. I cried during a lot of it because my teeth are hurting and I was getting hungry. We made it and I got yummy food but mommy said she's learned her lesson not to go out unless she has some back up snacks. You just never know when I'm gonna need them. I'm a growing girl.

This afternoon, Mommy, Daddy and I got out of the house and played in the snow for awhile. We went for a walk up and down our street taking pictures of all the crazy stuff from the snow. I enjoyed trying to climb the mountains of snow. I really like being outdoors and I LOVE the snow.

Mommy and Daddy had to go outside and shovel again. They let me come too. I love being outside and I love the snow. I burrowed my way out to the street and ran around for a little bit.

Today the weather outside is really, really bad. Mommy calls it "a blizzard." All I know is that it means I'm stuck inside again. My Daddy has been home all week long because of the snow. It's been fun playing with my Daddy, my mommy and my dogs. I really like the snow, too. I tried stepping out in it but as soon as the wind and snow hit me in the face, I immediately turned around and came back inside. Now I know why my parents don't want me out there. I hope it stops snowing soon. It's pretty and it's fun but I'm really tired of being inside.

There's supposed to be a lot of snow coming tomorrow. We got in the van to go to the store today and Ms. Betty, a lady who lives across the street, was trying to leave too. She got stuck in the snow. Daddy helped her to get back to her driveway and we took her to the store with us in the van. It was a crazy time. There were lots of people there. There was no meat, no produce. Mommy said I might have to do without bananas for a couple of days. That's okay, I'm just glad Daddy's been off of work because of the snow. Maybe he'll get to stay home all week! We'll just have to see.

It was a crazy snow storm but it has stopped and Mommy said I could go outside. I played out front for a while and Mommy and Daddy shoveled. Then we went out back so the dogs could play in the snow. Mommy let me help her measure the snow. It was a LOT of snow.

So, Mom-mom drops off this really cool grocery cart for me on Sunday along with a several packs of diapers. Can you say, "I'm spoiled?" Yep. Daddy put it together but it was right before bedtime.

Monday I got up and Mommy let me play with it while she went to her "office" to go pay bills. Her office is set up in my old nursery. She heard me fall and couldn't figure out what had happened when she came running in to pick me up. After she consoled me for a while and put me back down to play, I immediately got up and showed her what I had been doing that caused the fall.

There was a moth who was taunting me on the other side of the front door. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why I couldn't touch him. But that didn't stop me from trying again and again.

We got snow on January 30th. Daddy said he was bummed because we've been getting a lot of snow on the weekend. But that didn't stop us from having a fun day and some time in the snow.

Try again. Today we FINALLY got to the aquarium in Baltimore with Daddy this time. We went straight to the dolphin show this time. I had a blast watching the dolphins jump in the air and do all kinds of tricks. It was fun. Then we took Daddy to see the part of the aquarium Mommy and I saw last week. We had a good time.

When we got up to the top where the rain forest part was Mommy let me down and let me walk by myself. Daddy filmed and I'm sure they'll post it soon. I knew where the path went all by myself and didn't need any help. Now I just need to get Gramma and Grampa there. They need to see how much I love the aquarium.

The only disappointment for me was that I wanted SO BADLY to get in the water WITH the fish, sharks and stingrays but I couldn't figure out how to get past the glass. I had a good time anyway. I hope we go back again soon.

Home Again

Mommy spent most of the morning running errands. She was kind of stressed out when she got home because she had been driving out in the snow. She said there were people out there driving that were being a danger to her and other drivers. She was very unhappy. Well, I took a long nap in the morning for some reason so Mommy figured since I was well-rested and there probably wouldn't be as many people because of the snow, we might go to the aquarium today and take Daddy with us this time.

We piled in the car and got on our way but the roads were still bad. Mommy and Daddy talked and they decided that today wouldn't be a good day to go to the aquarium after all. Mommy turned us around and we headed home. One lady almost slid into our van but thankfully, she didn't.

Once we got home, Daddy and Mommy took me outside in my new boots that Gramma bought me and let me play in the snow. I didn't play so much as stand there and talk to the snowflakes. It was big fun. I especially liked it when the doggies came outside with me. I got a big kick out of watching them play in the snow.

Once I came back in I rested in my crib for a little while and then spent the rest of the evening playing. I was bummed we didn't go to the aquarium but I stilled had a good day. Maybe we'll go tomorrow.

Caleb has been coming to visit me every week. We do big playing together. Today we each took turns taking naps. While I was napping, Mommy took Caleb outside and they played with my police car. I don't mind. I've gotten pretty good at sharing and I like Caleb. He's my buddy.

My First Trip to the Aquarium

Today Mommy and I took a trip to the National Aquarium in Baltimore. It was pretty cool. They don't allow strollers so Mommy had to carry me around everywhere. It made it hard on her to take pictures with one hand but she managed. To see all of the aquarium pictures, click on this one and it will take you to where we keep them in Flickr.

I had a lot of fun watching everything swimming around me. The only thing I didn't like is that they had this glass in front of me. It kept me from touching everything. If you look at the pictures, you will see several shots of me with my hand up on the glass trying to figure out why I couldn't reach everything. Other than that, it was awesome. There was so much fun stuff to look at.

I have to thank Gramma and Grampa. They gave us a membership to the Aquarium for my birthday last November. Now I can go anytime I want. Maybe next time I can go with them, too! I know they'd like it.

The Little Explorer

Today was a beautiful day outside. I got to out and play a lot today. It was fun! Mommy took my police car outside. We took it down the street to where a real policeman lives. He keeps his car parked out front. Mommy took this picture of me in my police car next to his.

I also played outside. I've learned that I can use my feet to kick my ball. I'm still a little behind the "average" 14 month old in speech which is no big deal but I'm ahead in my physical co-ordination.

Pop-pop and Grandma Mary's New Home

Today is Grandma Mary's Birthday. Mommy went over to see her and Pop-pop. She took pictures for me so I can see their new Townhome. It's really pretty.

You enter through the garage and the first floor is like a den or what Pop-pop calls "a man cave." Then you go up a flight of steps and you are in the living room.

Then if you turn to the right you enter the kitchen.

Across from this part of the kitchen, they have a workstation.

Back to the livingroom, if you proceed straight across, you will see the formal front door. Right next to it is a coat closet and the powder room.

Once you go up the stairs you turn right and go down the hallway. You first come to the hall bath.

If you continue down the hallway there are two bedrooms directly in front of you. The one on the right looks like this:

If you go back down the hall you will enter the master bedroom. It's to the left when you first come up from downstairs.

So as you can see. It's a beautiful place. Pop-pop says, "It's got a lot of stairs." But he also says that their new place that they are building in North Carolina won't have any stairs and they're looking forward to that!

Today was Bianca's first birthday! Mommy wasn't feeling good and I fell asleep and Daddy didn't want to wake me to take me. So we stayed home. Mommy and Daddy were sad that they missed the party but it was good for helping everybody to feel better. In the evening, I spent some time before bed climbing Mt. Daddy. Gayla helped.

Today, Mommy had to go to the dentist. Miss Jessi watched me at her house while Mommy was gone. I got to play with Caleb's toys. He was great about sharing them with me. I ate lunch there, too.

Later that night, I was determined to show Mommy all the big girl stuff I've been learning by observing Caleb so I climbed into this chair all by myself. See? I'm a big girl.

My Buddy Caleb

Caleb is three months older than me. He's gotten so big. He talks pretty good and is much better than me at doing stuff. He was showing me the right way to play with this toy. I've been trying to get in it but he showed me how to sit on it. It was fun having Caleb here. Mommy said Caleb is going to come visit every week for a day so that Miss Jessi can go to work. I think it will be big fun having Caleb here.

Today, Daddy had the day off of work. We took him to the eye doctor because he's been having problems with one of his eyes. While he was in seeing the office, Mommy took me on a walk. She showed me a pine tree and gave me a pine cone. I held it tight during the rest of the walk. I had fun on that walk.

A Day Full of Activities

Today Mommy went to a women's conference at church, we celebrated my cousin's 3rd birthday, and Aunt Lynn, Uncle J and Mom-mom came down to watch football with us. It was a very busy day.

Mommy left early in the morning for church even though I had her up all night. Even though she only got like two hours of sleep, she still had to go because she was helping Ms. Bethany lead the music. I stayed home with Daddy all day. I wasn't feeling good because I hadn't slept well either. Daddy had to listen  me cry a lot but overall, it was a fun time.

After the Mommy left the conference, she met Daddy and I at the bowling alley to celebrate Verity's birthday. There were a lot of kids there. We had cake. Mommy shared her piece with me. It was fun being around all those different people. There were a lot of birthdays being celebrated at once so there were a lot of different kids to see.

After the bowling alley, we went home and Aunt Lynn, Uncle J and Mom-mom came down to watch the football game. Mommy's team, the Ravens, were playing another special game. I didn't get to stay up for very long but Mommy told me later, the Ravens lost. She was kind of sad about it but she says she expected it sooner or later and that she was glad the played as good as they did this year. I just had fun showing off all my toys to everybody. Another fun day!

A Visit to Ms. Bethany's House

Today Mommy drove me up to see Ms. Bethany and her kids. Her fourth child, Briella is about a year older than me. Briella plays with me at church. She's my pal. She always asks, "Where Elaina is?" She's been kind to me from the very beginning. Briella was over at her next door neighbor's house though. I didn't get to see her. Her brother Austin was at school so it was just the older two sister Ali and Lisey there but I had fun following them around and exploring while Ms. Bethany and Mommy worked on music for a special thing at church coming up. Ali and Lisey showed me their "Miis" on their nintendo. If you don't know what a Mii is, it's a cartoon character that you can create on the Nintendo that looks just like you. I have a Mii that Mommy helped me make. I am always fascinated with faces so i really like seeing all the different Miis. It was a fun time at Ms. Bethany's house. I hope we can go back again soon!

Lots of Attention

I got lots of attention today. Daddy came home from work early to wait for a special delivery just to play with me. This man came and dropped off a special sleep machine for Daddy to use at night. The man was very nice and he was very kind to me. Later on, Gramma and Grampa came over to spend some time with us. I got to play special hide and seek games with my Grampa. It was fun. After I went to sleep Mommy said that they watched a t.v. show and enjoyed dinner together. I like it when my grandparents come to see me. It's such fun!

I don't know where the camera's been lately but Mommy hasn't been taking pictures for me to post. Sorry, guys! I'm still cute. I promise!

A Blah Kind of Day

Nothing too special happened today. Mommy did chores around the house. I made it my mission to mess it up after she cleaned it up. I must have worn myself out because I surprised her by taking a nap that lasted over THREE HOURS!!! Mommy asked me that if I am going to do that in the future to please let her know because she'd like to use her time differently. Oops. I didn't know, myself. I must be growing again!

Mom-mom Comes to Rah-Rah

Today, Mom-mom came down to visit. We got to watch the Ravens game. They are Mommy's favorite football team. It's the first weekend of something called "the playoffs." Mommy is excited her team is still playing. We don't ask Daddy about his team. Mommy said, "maybe ask Daddy next year."

Shopping and a Haircut

Today, Mommy made a big grocery list that included three different stores. She uses a special website to help her use her coupons and save money. Daddy needed a haircut so they mapped out a route that would let us get it all done and then we set out in the van for a big day of shopping. Daddy's hair looks great. It took me a minute to figure out what was different. It was kind of funny when I first saw him, I kind of stared at him for a little bit. The I smiled real big. Tonight we're going to watch football games. Mommy keeps talking with Daddy about these, "playoffs." I don't know what that means but it sounds important.

Flat tire

Poor Daddy. He got a flat tire on his way into work today. He accidentally overslept and the roads were kind of icy this morning anyway. It's already been a hard day for him just trying to get to work. He won't be home until late but Mommy said when he gets home we're going to have a fun night of watching movies. I'm very excited. 

Family Fun!

Today we went to see my cousins, Bianca and Verity. Aunt Jocie had a dentist appointment and asked if Mommy would come keep the zoo contained watch Bianca and Verity for her while she went to her appointment. Verity showed me her rocking horse. Bianca shared all of her neat toys. I got to eat green grapes and loved them! Mommy usually gives me red grapes but figures green ones are better for getting the juice on and off my clothes. I think my favorite part was pulling all the alphabet magnets off the refrigerator. Bianca tried to help me put them back on but she's still working on that so I had all the magnets off before she could really get started. It was good to see my cousins again.

Because I'm working on healing a diaper rash right now, when I pee in my diaper it wakes me up. I've been waking up around 11:30/Midnight. I don't like to go back to sleep right away and instead of fight with me, my parents let me play for a little bit. It usually only takes about 15 minutes and then I'm sleepy again. It's nice to be able to make sure all my toys are still there and still working. You'd be surprised at how much playing I can fit in 15 minutes.

When I awoke this morning I felt burning pain in my diaper. I was not a happy camper. I know Mommy and Daddy try to help me by putting cream on it but IT HURTS. Mommy gave me a warm bath this morning which is fine with me because I LOVE baths. Mommy has to keep the bathroom door closed or I will try to climb in even when it's empty.

Afterwards, she let me play just in my diaper for a little while. It was totally fun. I have the best time being naked. You should try it some time. It made it easier for me to use my Bumbo Chair. I like trying to figure out how to get in and out of it. When I have clothes on, my feet get stuck under me. See? I need to be nakey more often!

Walk around in circles. I tend to make myself dizzy.
Love turning on and off light switches.
Love closing the refrigerator and cabinet doors to help Mommy.
Love to clothe myself. I can pull clothes over my head and off of my body, too. I can put my own arms through the arm holes.
I have my own cabinet with plastic containers in it. I love pulling things out.
Started kicking things with my feet.

So my latest thing is not liking to eat very much because it means sitting in my high chair. That means I have to sit still and patiently eat. Sometimes I gobble my food down just so I can get back to playing. Mommy's decided to try something different. She said, we have dogs and a vacuum cleaner. During the day, she's been letting me eat in the living room. She brought my tray in and sat it down. I sat down on it and I ate a lot more food that way. I liked being able to get up and play and then come back and munch a little more. It was big fun.

Since I had my big fuss fest last week, I've been doing much better. Mommy gave me some chicken salad today. Mayonnaise has no milk in it so Mommy figured it would be pretty safe to let me have it. She wasn't sure if I'd like it but it was so good. I ended up with it all over my face and clothes. Mommy forgot to put a bib on me. But you know what? Sometimes a girl's just gotta get down and dirty. I enjoyed chicken salad.

to my Grandparents house I went! Grampa came and got me this morning. I've been sick and giving my Mommy and Daddy the dickens of a time. They've started to get really frustrated so Grampa and Gramma offered to let me come visit them for a little while. I got to spend the night and everything! It was so fun. I came back home happy to see my parents but it was fun visiting Gramma and Grampa.

I asked Mommy and Daddy what they did without me and they said watch movies and clean. Here's a picture of Gayla watching a video of my Annie when she was a puppy. Mommy has the movie online and thousands of people have seen it. Mommy figured out how to get it to play on the t.v. and Gayla got very interested in watching it. See how funny she is? Today is the first day of 2010. It's a new year and a new decade. Mommy and Daddy said they're happy they have me to enjoy it with them. I've already gotten so big in just one year! I can't wait to see what the new year brings! There's lots of new adventures to be had. Mommy said she will try to help me keep up this blog but I just keep getting busier and busier.
